Ganesha, with an elephant head and a round potbelly, is most notably known as the “remover of obstacles” but he also resides over the realms of wisdom, luck, doorways and writing. Legend states that Ganesha, broke off his own tusk to use as a quill to scribe India’s greatest epic, the Mahabharata. A Yantra is a geometric symbol that is used in yoga to balance or focus the mind. The yantra painted on Ganesha’s forehead is the mantra representing Ganesha’s power of removing obstacles.
